What's new in Embedd
Added chip families, output languages, CLI updates, and accuracy fixes. Newest releases appear first.
Renesas RA support with C++17 constexpr output
Validated support now covers the Renesas RA2, RA4, and RA6 series. C++17 mode emits constexpr bitfield masks and reset values rather than #define macros, with stronger type safety in C++ firmware.
NXP LPC55 fix: stitching split register tables
Fixed extraction for the LPC55S6x FLEXCOMM table when its two same-page columns produced incomplete bitfield coverage. Affected registers: FIFOSTAT, FIFOTRIG, FIFOINTENSET. Regenerate existing LPC55 drivers for the corrected output.
REST API v2: async jobs with webhook notifications
The REST API supports async generation jobs with webhook callbacks. POST a generation request, receive a job ID, and get notified when output is ready. Useful for datasheets exceeding 400 pages. The v1 synchronous endpoint remains available and will not be removed before January 2027.
nRF5340 UICR reset value extraction corrected
nRF5340 UICR reset values were incorrectly extracted as 0x00000000 regardless of the datasheet. The logic now handles non-zero reset values in OTP-class registers correctly. Existing nRF5340 drivers should be regenerated.
Rust beta output and unit test stubs
Rust HAL output is available in beta on the Team plan. Generated Rust code uses embedded-hal traits where applicable and falls back to raw register access. Unit test stub generation, including register mocks for GCC/host builds, is now offered on Engineer and Team plans.
CLI v0.9.0: CMake helpers and local driver caching
The embedd CLI includes cmake/EmbeddGenerate.cmake, a helper module adding embedd_generate_driver() for CMakeLists.txt integration. Generated drivers are cached locally by chip hash, so re-generation without a content change is a no-op.
TI SimpleLink adds CC32xx families
Support now includes TI CC3220, CC3235, and CC3100 SimpleLink Wi-Fi SoCs, plus CC13x2 and CC26x2 wireless MCUs. Production datasheets confirmed the validation. The library now contains 180+ chip families.
Explorer and Engineer plans open to the public
Embedd now supports self-serve signup. Explorer plan (free, 3 generations/month) and Engineer plan ($99/month) are available at launch. The initial library includes validated STM32, nRF52, i.MX RT, and SAMD series. PDF upload works on all plans.
