We automate the work nobody wants
Embedd was founded by two Cambridge engineers who kept writing the same peripheral drivers. We built the tool we wanted: accurate, fast, and part of the build system.
Remove bring-up friction
Each chip bring-up begins with the same job: turning datasheet register tables into header files. It is necessary, low-creativity work that takes days, creates transcription errors, and adds nothing to product differentiation. We are automating it for good.
We think firmware engineers should spend their time on system design and product-specific application logic. Embedd takes care of the scaffolding so they can begin there.
The team behind Embedd
Ashley Golland
CEO and Co-Founder
Ashley Golland builds embedded firmware and tooling for ARM-based hardware products. As Embedd's co-founder, he knows the bring-up bottleneck firsthand: the moment an engineer faces a 400-page PDF and starts copying register offsets by hand.
Tom Whitfield
CTO and Co-Founder
Tom Whitfield builds document-parsing and code-generation pipelines. As Embedd's co-founder, he leads the extraction engine and register-model architecture behind driver generation.
Priya Narayanan
Head of Partnerships
Priya Narayanan builds technical partnerships between EDA toolchains and firmware teams. As Head of Partnerships, she manages Embedd's chip vendor integrations and pilot programme.
Made in Cambridge
Embedd is incorporated and based in Cambridge, UK, where hardware and semiconductor companies are concentrated. Being close to the embedded engineering community has shaped our early product decisions and pilot partnerships.
We are hiring engineers with embedded systems or document-parsing experience. If driver generation interests you, get in touch.

Our methods
Get it right
Drivers that do not match the silicon are worse than no drivers. We check every output against the register model and a GCC cross-compile before delivery. If a generation fails that gate, it does not ship.
Fits your build
Our output must fit the engineer's existing build system. No runtime dependencies, proprietary headers, or imposed directory layout. Just clean C that compiles wherever C compiles.
Traceability
Each generated accessor links back to its register and bitfield in the source datasheet. The intermediate register model can be inspected. When Embedd produces something unexpected, the audit trail is available.
